Duluth artist and National Public Radio’s 2016 Tiny Desk Contest winner Gaelynn Lea will be headlining the free outdoor stage at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, during the Austin ArtWorks Festival.

Lea, who performs from her electric wheelchair, began playing violin 20 years ago after a creative music teacher helped her to adapt a playing style that suited her frame. Lea holds the instrument like a cello and uses a looping pedal top perform her original songs.

Lea has released three studio albums; a fourth album is scheduled for release in September.
