A 2016 Dodge Ram pick-up truck received front-end damage after being stolen and taken on a joyride on Sunday.
According to Mower County Senior Sgt. Investigator Steve Sandvik, the truck was stolen between 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Sunday from the Mower County Fairgrounds. The owner said he inadvertently left the keys on a refrigerator outside of his camper.
The truck was later recovered at the fairgrounds with evidence of corn tassels, indicating it had been taken on a joyride, and visible front-end damage. A cooler had also been stolen and the keys had been tossed in another location, Sandvik said.
The truck was transported to an auto repair shop, though it is unknown how much damage was caused.
There are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Mower County Law Enforcement Center at 507-437-9400.
