Nine Mower County 4-H’ers were among 90 youths grades 3-6 from across southeast Minnesota to attend the 2018 Mission Possible 4-H Camp from June 20-22 at Camp Patterson on Lake Washington, Madison Lake, Minnesota.
The Minnesota 4-H Camping Program develops leadership and responsibility skills for teen counselors while providing a safe and fun opportunity for campers through activities that allow them to gain knowledge and develop social skills while meeting new friends.
“The 4-H camp experience is a great opportunity for our youth to make new friends while enhancing their social skills like friendship, responsibility and independence,” Mower County 4-H Program Coordinator April VonRuden said in a press release. “Our camps are led by youth leaders who serve as counselors, so they also develop their leadership skills through the experience.”
Attending camp from Mower County 4-H were Montana Scott, Alyssa Klouse, Grace Vortherms, Jenna Hetzel, Meryn Silbaugh, Hunter VanReese, Will Thome, Katie VanPelt and Abby VanPelt.
Also attending as counselors were Mower County 4-H’ers Isabel Beck, Mason Silbaugh, Joe Mentel and Abby Mueller.
