Elaine Linda Knopf, 66, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on July 20, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Elaine was born on Aug. 7, 1951, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Arnold and Lucille (Hendrickson) Guttormson. She married Charles David Knopf on Feb. 22, 1970. Elaine worked for many years at the YMCA in Austin. She loved being a grandma and enjoyed traveling to Arizona each February with her husband.

Elaine is survived by her spouse, Charles Knopf; daughter, Rachel Petrella and son-in-law Adam Petrella of Edina, Minnesota; son, Anthony Knopf of Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren, Carter Petrella and Ethan Petrella; parents, Arnold and Lucille Guttormson of Cross Lake, Minnesota; twin sister, Alane Baseman and brother-in-law Leroy Baseman of Glenville, Minnesota; and brother, Steve Guttormson and sister-in-law Cindy Guttormson of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota.

The family of Elaine wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin, Good Samaritan in Albert Lea, and St. Croix Hospice. Cancer took her away, but her memories will live on forever.

A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. Memorials in Elaine’s memory may be directed to the YMCA of Austin (www.ymca-austin.org).
