A short police chase Tuesday evening led to the arrest of a husband and wife.

According to Austin Police Chief Bran Krueger, police were called at 7:52 p.m. on Tuesday about a man dancing in the street with a beer in his hand near one of the east side bars. An officer was heading in that direction when he allegedly saw a car going over 50 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone going in the other direction.

The officer turned around and pursued the vehicle, which allegedly did not stop when the officer turned on the lights. After a short pursuit, which involved the vehicle running a stop sign, the vehicle pulled into a driveway at a residence in the 700 block of Fourth St. Northwest.
