This year, three workshops will be offered:

• Meal Planning Masters Workshop, 1-3 p.m. This workshop, taught by SNAP educator Thelma Garcia, will teach about planning balanced meals, basic food safety tips and creating a healthy snack. Participants will also learn about the 4-H food review project, what judges look for, example theme ideas and how to properly prepare a place setting.

• “Fair Ready” Photos Workshop, 3-5 p.m. Participants will learn from Lyn Meany about photography basics, including everything they need to know to get their pictures ready for the fair. They will learn about how to take good pictures and will get practice taking pictures and editing them. Participants need to bring a camera and laptop; however, if they do not have one, they can contact the Mower County Extension Office.

• Beef Showmanship and Fitting Clinic, 6-8 p.m. (showmanship) and 8 p.m. (fitting demonstration). Scott Swanek and Tara Thorson will lead this clinic, teaching participants about county fair showmanship skills and how to groom and fit beef animals for the fair. Participants are asked to bring one beef animal for hands-on practice. If they do not have a beef animal, they can contact the Mower County Extension Office and they will try to find one to borrow.

All workshops are open to grades 3 and up. Participants do not have to be 4-H members.
