Cody Dean Plank, 25, of Faribault was sentenced on Friday in Mower County District Court to 12 months and one day in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for felony predatory offender failure to register. He received credit for 314 days served.

Charges of gross misdemeanor motor vehicle registration-intent to escape tax and misdemeanor no insurance were dismissed.

Judge Christa M. Daily issued the sentence.

Plank was arrested on Feb. 27, 2017, for vehicle and driving violations. The arresting officer learned from the Minnesota Department of Corrections that Plank was a registered predatory offender, but had not registered a 1999 Dodge Ram pick-up truck he had purchased a month prior. The officer had seen Plank driving the vehicle earlier that day.
