Timothy Donald Camerer, 44, of Austin was sentenced on Thursday in Mower County District Court to 180 days in jail and 25 years of probation for two counts of felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim under 16 years of age-significant relationship. He pleaded guilty to the charges in February as part of a plea agreement.

The jail time will be served as a work release and may be served in the Steele County Jail. He received credit for five days served.

Police received a report on April 28, 2017,  regarding a teenaged girl who said Camerer had been sexually assaulting her since she was eight or nine years old. She said he would touch her inappropriately and when she told him to stop, he would make her feel bad by saying nobody loved or cared about him.

She also said that, although he never threatened her not to tell, he told her if she really loved him, she wouldn’t tell anyone about the abuse and that he would sometimes make it sound like he did it for her own good.

As part of the sentencing, Camerer must also follow 29 conditions, including no use of the Internet without approval, no use of social media and registration as a predatory offender. Failure to follow the conditions could result in 36 months in prison.
