Joleen A. Mead, 80, of Dexter, Minnesota, died at her home on Thursday, June 7, 2018.

Joleen Ann was born June 15, 1937, at Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Marius and Verna (Dalldorf) Sonksen. She graduated from Elkton High School and from the cosmetology school in Austin, Minnesota. On July 1, 1956, Joleen married Warren M. Mead at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dexter Township.

Joleen operated a beauty shop in her home for over 55 years and retired at the age of 77. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dexter Township, and after the church closed she was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Austin. She belonged to the local Dexter Card Club and loved to entertain her family and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; her parents; and son-in-law, Garry Felger.

Joleen is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Frances Mead, Edgewater, Maryland; daughter, Dawn Felger, Seaside Heights, New Jersey; granddaughter, Morgan Felger, Seaside Heights, New Jersey; step-granddaughter, Shirley Davis, Clements, Maryland; four step-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 2103 8th Street SW, Austin, with Pastor Paul Welke officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and for one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church.
