Gerard Academy and the Hormel Historic Home will celebrate their long and connected history at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, at the Hormel Historic Home, 208 Fourth Ave. NW, Austin.

Geordie Hormel, son of George and Lillian, reopened his father’s mansion in 1958 as the King’s Wood Restaurant and Hotel, featuring fine French cuisine.

The King’s Wood Dinner fundraiser will treat diners to a French-inspired meal of filet mignon and a dessert bar with items from the original King’s Wood menu.
