RCC baseball team wins MCAC tournament, advances to Regionals

The Riverland Community College baseball team, which is ranked No. 6 in NJCAA Division III, won the MCAC tournament by beating Western Tech 11-1 in six innings and topping Minnesota West 3-2 in RCTC over the weekend.

Austin grad Alex Ciola went four-for-six with a homer and four RBIs on the day and he picked up the pitching win against Western Tech.

The Blue Devils (22-4 overall) will be the No. 2 seed in the Regional tournament and they will open play against No. 7 RCTC in St. Cloud at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
