Minot knocks off Austin Bruins in double OT

The Austin Bruins didn’t go out without a fight, but their season came to an end when they lost to Minot in a 2-1 loss in double overtime in game three of the NAHL Central Division Finals in Minot Friday.

The No. 4 seeded Minotauros were able to wrap up the sweep and advance to the Robertson Cup when Nolan Sawchuk scored just under two minutes into the second overtime.

Austin held a brief 1-0 lead in the second period when Valdemar Ahlberg scored, but Minot’s Kennan Lund scored just 20 seconds later to tie the game at 1-1.

Alex Schilling had 40 saves in his final game as a Bruin.
