Mabel-Canton knocks off Southland softball team

The No. 6 seeded Southland softball team had its season come to an end when it lost to No. 3 Mabel-Canton (14-6 overall) 8-7 in a Section 1A tournament opener in Mabel Monday.

The Rebels (3-13 overall) scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to close the gap, but they couldn’t tie the game.

“It was a good game and we didn’t give up,” Southland head coach Greg Schulte said.
