Benefit set for Augustine family

Published 7:30 am Thursday, May 31, 2018

The simple act of going outside is a challenge for Jennifer and Nathan Augustine and their three children — all but Nathan have immune system dysfunction that affects their ability to ward off environmental dangers that cause them to faint if exposed.

A benefit for the family will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 3 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, whose proceeds will help offset the family’s medical bills. Family members face bills for travel, testing, and specialist bills.

A pulled pork dinner, with potato salad, cole slaw and baked beans, will be held by free will offering and served throughout the evening; as well as a silent auction and bake sale.

Bidding will close for the auction at 7:30 p.m., but the highest bidders do not need to be present to win. Items and baskets of value will be featured.

Plans are to show the movie, “Miracles from Heaven” from 5:30-7 p.m., free of charge.

The church is located at 1200 13th Ave. NW in Austin.
