Austin man killed in collision

An Austin man was killed after his vehicle collided with a milk truck Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol report, Andrew Christopher Davidson, 23, of Austin was driving southbound at 1:13 p.m. on Tuesday on Highway 52 when his 1993 Plymouth Sundance crossed the center and collided with the northbound 2016 Freightliner Conventional near milepost 12 in Preston Township near Harmony.

The truck tried to avoid the oncoming car, but struck it on the northbound shoulder.

Davidson was killed in the accident. The driver of the milk truck, Chad Steven Finseth, 40, of Preston, was uninjured.

The Harmony Fire Department, Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota Department of Transportation responded to the scene.

It was determined that Finseth was not under the influence of alcohol. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
