This area is under another winter storm warning, which could bring 6 to 8 inches of snow by the time it ends Tuesday night, with localized amounts of up to 11 inches, according to the National Weather Service in LaCrosse, Wis.

Snow is expected to fall beginning about 1 a.m. Tuesday and continuing to 4 a.m. on Wednesday. Both Tuesday’s morning and evening commutes are expected to be impacted, with the heaviest accumulations between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The system will affect southeastern Minnesota into west central and central Wisconsin, and portions of northeast Iowa, where lesser amounts of snow are expected.

North winds are expected to increase Tuesday with gusts up to 30 mph, which could cause some patchy or blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility. Highs are expected in the low-30s, dipping into the single digits Tuesday, at about 9 degrees above zero.

A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
