Wallet stolen from unlocked vehicle early Thursday

Police stumbled across an unlocked minivan with an open door while searching for a suspicious man Thursday morning.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, police responded to a call of a suspicious man at 2:27 a.m. on Thursday in an alleyway in the 1000 block of 10th Avenue Southwest. While looking in an alleyway in the 800 block, police came across a gold minivan with a door wide open.
The police notified the registered owner of the vehicle and it was discovered that his girlfriend’s cell phone wallet was missing from inside. The woman’s credit cards and ID were in the wallet.
It was verified that the minivan had been left unlocked. There are no suspects at this time.
