Lorys A. Nauman, 80, of Cross Lake, Minnesota, died on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Sojourner Place in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Lorys Avon Sorenson was born on June 11, 1937, in LeRoy, Minnesota, the daughter of Leonard A. and Laura O. (Thoreson) Sorenson. She was a 1955 graduate of LeRoy High School. On June 1, 1957, Lorys married the love of her life, James Nauman, in LeRoy. They had three children: Jeff (Sherri) Nauman, Brad Nauman, and Jann (Mark) Holeman. Lorys was a secretary at Hormel Foods in the 1960s and held several volunteer positions at Grace Baptist Church in Austin, Minnesota, and the Evangelical Free Church in Cross Lake over the years. She loved and enjoyed her nine grandchildren and they enjoyed visiting her at her lake home in Cross Lake. She also enjoyed her weekly visits with her friends from The Log Church’s Young at Heart group.

Lorys was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Leonard and Laura; her sister, Helen; and her five brothers, Les, Don, Vernon, Orlo and Russ.

Lorys is survived by her children, Jeff (Sherri) Nauman of Truman, Minneosta, Brad Nauman of Buffalo, Minnesota, and Jann (Mark) Holeman of Kalamazoo; two former daughters-in-law, Betty Eschler of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Jill Nauman of Buffalo; nine grandchildren, Lindsay Nauman, Jamie (Martin) Danner, Jeremy Nauman (Shanna Keck), Stacey Nauman, Krista Nauman, Derek Nauman, Christian (Anna) Holeman, Adam Holeman and Laura Holeman; two great granddaughters, Kylee Danner and Kaylee Danner; step-granddaughters, Krista Keck and Heather (Andy) Williamson; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Grace Baptist Church in Austin with Pastor Mark Holeman officiating. Visitors may greet the family from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary and from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday at the church. Interment will be in the afternoon on April 23 at the LeRoy Cemetery in LeRoy.
