JCI Austin holds fundraiser and membership recruitment event

JCI Austin, a local leadership organization of young adults and formerly Austin Jaycees, will hold a fundraising event to help raise money for the chapter.

Chapter members will be bussing tables at the Pizza Ranch in Austin from 4-8 p.m.  on Wednesday. All the money raised will be used by the chapter to continue many of the programs JCI Austin routinely produce for the community as well as fund new projects as they are developed.

Current programs include Take a Kid Fishing, Trout Tank, Sandbox Fill, and Pitch, Hit, and Run. The chapter also raises money for international needs, through JCI USA, and takes action during emergency situations by collecting supplies.

This event will also serve as a membership recruitment night. Anyone ages 18 to 40 is welcome to find out more about JCI Austin and how the organization can be utilized to make an impact in the Austin community. The chapter is finding itself with a slowly diminishing member base which, if new members cannot be found, may force the closure of Minnesota’s oldest continuously operating Jaycees chapter.
