Police are looking for a firearm that was stolen, along with an undisclosed amount of cash, from a safe at a Second Avenue Southeast residence.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, police were called about a burglary at 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
The victim said a Hi-Point C9 9 mm pistol and cash were stolen from a safe at the residence. The firearm was valued at $200.
There was no evidence of a break-in on the house’s exterior, nor was there any damage to the safe.
It is unknown when the theft occurred; however, the victim recalled that the firearm was in the safe over a month ago.
There are no suspects at this time.
