Woman pleads guilty to drug sales

Thania Sanchez, 24, of Austin pleaded guilty to felony third-degree drug sales as part of a plea agreement on Friday in Mower County District Court. She initially pleaded not guilty to the charge on July 17.

Sanchez was arrested on July 3 for selling approximately one gram of methamphetamine to a police informant on March 27. The informant surrendered the drugs to police at a designated area.

A review of Sanchez’s criminal history shows prior convictions for domestic assault and drug possession. She is currently serving a 20-year probation sentence for felony third-degree drug possession.

Sanchez will be sentenced on June 29.
