Mower County History Society Director Randy Forster will present “History of Theatre in Austin” on Monday during History Happy Hour at the Hormel Historic Home.
Forster will discuss the early days of theatre in Austin and how the late Frank W. Bridges was instrumental in creating Austin’s current theatre community, including Matchbox Children’s Theatre and the annual Summerset Theatre program.
Attendees are encouraged to wear T-shirts from any past production in which they participated.
History Happy Hour will begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m.. The presentation will begin at 6 p.m. Coffee, water and appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be available.
Admission is $5; the presentation is free to members of the Hormel Historic Home, Friends of the Austin Public Library or the Mower County Historical Society.
