It’s not very often this season where a team can say they went into overtime against the Austin Bruins and come out of it with a win.

Brookings did just that, claiming a 5-4 OT win over the Bruins Saturday night at Riverside Arena, despite giving  up nearly twice as many shots. Austin outshot Brookings 42-25.

Brookings held a 4-1 lead in the third period when the Bruins scored three straight goals in just over two minutes coming from Dante Zapata, Travis Kothenbeutel and Alex Bella.
