Austin senior Amy Stoulil is about to hit the ice for the final time, and she’s feeling a bit emotional about it. Stoulil and the rest of the Riverside Figure Skating Club will be in action this weekend when it hosts its annual show entitled “Tasty Freeze” in Riverside 7 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Stoulil will be skating in her 11th and final show this weekend.

“It’s really surreal to know that it’s my last show,” she said. “I’ve been through this for years and I’ve loved every minute of it. To suddenly know after this is done is upsetting, but I honestly wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

The RFSC has gained 10 skaters this season as it has a total of 35 skaters on board. Stoulil said it’s fun to work with the younger skaters and it doesn’t seem like it was long ago that she was one of the young skaters

“I definitely remember being a a younger skater looking up at the older skaters and thinking ‘wow,’ I would love to be able to do what they do,” Stoulil said. “Now it’s fun to work with the younger skaters as a senior. We’re a very close knit group.”

RFSC head coach Chris Amy is excited to be preparing for the show once again and the club will also hold a spring session this year on Sunday nights.

“We’ve had a great show session. The kids have worked hard and I’m just hoping that everything falls together. It usually does this week,” Amy said. “We’re going to have guest skaters and a guest precision team from Rochester.”

Stoulil is looking forward to the show.

“The show theme is interesting,” Stoulil said. “We have a lot of food themed songs. It’ll be fun loving and maybe a bit reminiscent for some of the older folks in the crowd.”

Tickets for the show are $10 and they can be purchased at the door.
