Dates have been set and applications are now being accepted for the third annual Badlands Rising Star Camp.

The camp was founded by Kat Perkins, a top five contestant on NBC’s “The Voice” and nationally recognized singer/songwriter/speaker and will be June 27-30 at The Burning Hills Amphitheater in Medora, North Dakota.

Badlands Rising Star 4-day camp includes everything from vocal and performance coaching, music business and marketing workshops, dance and acting classes, a personal photo shoot, nightly breakout performances around the campfire, to other optional activities like hiking, golfing, and swimming. The camp culminates in a once-in-a-lifetime experience where the campers get the opportunity to perform, along-side Kat, in front of thousands of people.

Cost for the four-day camp is $800 and includes accommodations. Musicians between the ages of 12-18 can apply at the Rising Star Foundation’s website: www.risingstarfoundation.org. Deadline to apply is June 1, limited space is available and applying early improves the chance of being accepted. “I’m blessed to have the opportunity to share my experiences, music industry knowledge and dedication to music with young musicians,” said Kat through a press release.

In addition to the Badlands Rising Star Camp, The Rising Star Foundation provides scholarships to aspiring musicians.

Perkins also travels and shares with kids from elementary to high-school her unique message of remaining determined, courageous and following their dreams.
