Southland girls show positive strides in loss

The Southland girls basketball team showed some improvements, but it wasn’t able to finish off an upset as it lost 55-50 to Dover-Eyota (15-11 overall, 15-3 Three Rivers) in Adams Tuesday.
The game was tied at 50 with 50 seconds left when DE was able to close it out. Southland had lost to DE 63-37 on Dec. 15.
“We’re pretty excited about the improvement the girls have made since the last time we played them,” Southland head coach Dean Bendtsen said.
Lexi Smith had nine points and 17 rebounds for the Rebels (6-15 overall, 6-11 Three Rivers).
