On Friday, Jan. 5, the Pacelli HOSA chapter (Future Health Professionals) competed in the Southeast Mid-Winter Competition at the Heintz Center in Rochester.
Students from eighth to 12 grade competed in a variety of events, including knowledge tests, interviews, presentations, and HOSA Bowl.
Competing in many events required preparation, which students completed on their own as an extracurricular activity.
To qualify, participants had to earn either first or second place in their competition. Pacelli had 11 students qualify for the state competition, which will be held in March in St. Cloud. Students will come from around the state to compete in the same events.
The Pacelli HOSA chapter will spend the next months fundraising and preparing for the three-day competition.
