Orris E. “Orrie” Ohm, 83 of Brownsdale, Minnesota, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at St. Mark’s Heritage Community in Austin, Minnesota, surrounded by his loving family.

Orris Edward Ohm was born May 4, 1934, in Waltham Township, Mower County, Minnesota, the son of Edward C. and Erma (Wollenburg) Ohm. He attended Austin High School. Orrie made his living as a master carpenter, serving the Mower County area until retiring in 1996. On Sept. 5, 1955, he married Florence Keller in Kasson, Minnesota. To this union, four children were born. The couple later divorced. Orrie was united in marriage to Marlene Christopherson on Feb. 14, 2004, in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. The couple has enjoyed 14 years of marriage.

Orrie was an outdoorsman and spent much of his leisure time hunting, fishing, camping and riding motorcycles and four-wheelers. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Waltham, the Stump Jumpers 4X4 Club, and enjoyed taking trips and drives. Especially important to him was the time he spent with his family. He treasured his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Orrie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Ohm of Brownsdale; four children, Brian Ohm of Austin, Robert (Marla Mae) Ohm of Sparta, Wisconsin, Scott (Kris) Ohm of Rochester, Minnesota, and Jane (Stephen) Sauter of Cocolalla, Idaho; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Myron (Ann) Ohm of Buffalo, Minnesota; a sister, Val Burns of Austin; Marlene’s family, Tim (Lynn) Schaefer of Rose Creek, Minnesota, Terry (Lisa) Schaefer, Troy (Kat) Schaefer, Becky (Chad) Rasmussen, Brandon (Tami) Schaefer, Bryan (Kylene) Schaefer, and Beth (Derek) Laskewitz, all of Austin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Erma Ohm; and two sisters, Marlene and Darlene.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Waltham with the Rev. Jesse Krusemark officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Waltham, on Friday, May 4, 2018.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
