Heather E. Tomlinson, 48, of Austin, Minnesota, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Heather Elizabeth Dombrock was born Aug. 23, 1969, in Austin to Craig and Joann (Shatek) Dombrock. She graduated from Austin High School with the Class of 1987. She attended Riverland Community College, where she studied occupational therapy and earned her degree in cosmetology. Heather continued her education at Winona State University, where she studied criminal justice and psychology. She worked in catering at St. Mary’s College in Winona, Minnesota, and enjoyed being part of the wait staff at Victoria’s in Rochester, Minnesota. She loved her work as a paraprofessional at the Hawthorne Education Center and was a member at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester. She lived in Rochester for the past 10 years before returning to Austin. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, astrology, reading crime novels, and was an animal lover. She was a member of the Goodview Activity Group and chaired the Miss Winona and Miss Goodview pageants. Heather will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Grace Tomlinson of Rochester; son, Jake Dombrock of Rochester; her parents, Craig and Joann Dombrock of Austin; one grandchild, Rahja; and close friends, Tammy and Will Davenport of Austin. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Douglas and Elizabeth Shatek and Marie and Leroy Dombrock.
A memorial gathering will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. A service is being planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin at a later date.
