Deputies recognized for DWI enforcement

The Mower County Board of Commissioners recognized three Mower County deputies on Tuesday for their roles in the Toward Zero Deaths DWI enforcement in 2017.

Deputies Jamie Meyer, Thomas Brogan, and Tyler Wilson placed within the top 70 out of 4,391 law enforcement agents throughout the state that processed DWI arrests in 2017.

Southern Minnesota Law Enforcement Liaison Scott McConkey of the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety informed Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi of their accomplishments on Feb. 7.

The deputies placed as follows:

• Deputy Jamie Meyerplaced 32nd with 53 arrests;

• Deputy Thomas Brogan placed 52nd with 30 arrests; and

• Deputy Tyler Wilsonplaced 64th with 18 arrests.

Meyer has been with the Mower County Sheriff’s Office since Oct. 18, 2010, while Brogan has been with the office since June 20, 2016. Wilson is still on probation, having only been with the office since Aug. 23, 2017, but made his arrests while he was an officer with the Albert Lea Police Department.
