Royston’s big night leads Cardinals past KW
LeRoy-Ostrander senior Seth Royston reached a major milestone as the Cardinal boys basketball team beat Kenyon-Wanamingo (1-17 overall) 75-51 in LeRoy Tuesday.
Royston scored a career-high 37 points as he hit eight three-pointers in the win for LO (12-3 overall). He also scored his 1,000th career point, making him the first LO boys basketball player to hit that mark since his older brother Zach Royston did it in the 2014-2015 season.
LO led by just one at the half, but the team stepped up in the second frame.
“We challenged them to play defense and we got after it in the second half,” LO head coach Trevor Carrier said.
