Iowa woman strikes snowplow

A 50-year-old Nora Springs, Iowa, woman suffered non-life-threatening injury when her SUV hit a Minnesota Department of Transportation snowplow about 2 p.m. Friday on Interstate 90.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Pamela Lynn Calvert was driving a Nissan Murano in the eastbound lane of I-90 in Windom Township when she struck the rear end of the snowplow, driven by Derrick Lee Crews, 38, of Austin. He was not injured.

Calvert was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin by Gold Cross Ambulance. She was wearing a seat belt.

The patrol said the interstate had both snow and ice on the surface at the time of the accident.

Mower County Sheriff, and police officers from Austin and Lyle all assisted at the scene.
