Erma Kathleen “Kate” Trembley, 94, went to be with her beloved Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus-Rochester.
Kate was born on Feb. 2, 1923, in Orange Township, Guthrie County, Iowa, to John Guy and Edna Rose Minnich. Kate was the seventh child among 13 siblings. She attended school until the eighth grade in Iowa and did odd jobs until she married Casper Deters in 1944. They made their home in Brownsdale, Minnesota, where Cap worked for Hormel and Kate was a homemaker. Cap and Kate had five sons, Ronald, Brad, Max, Randy, and Doug. Cap passed away in 1953. Kate married Paul Trembley in 1955. They made their home in Austin, Minnesota, where Paul worked for Austin Utilities until he retired and Kate continued as a homemaker. Paul and Kate had two children, Suzette and Paul “Ken.”
Kate was the most loving, kind, patient, supportive, accepting and forgiving person. She loved to do crafts, quilting and collecting. Collecting porcelain dolls was especially fun for her and at one time she had over 300. She had a great sense of humor and always had words of wisdom and a listening ear. Her greatest loves were Jesus her Savior, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Kate is survived by her children, Brad (Terri) Deters, Austin, Max Deters, Mount Auburn, Illinois, Randy (Penny) Deters, Brownsdale, Doug (Pat) Deters, Austin, Suzette (Terry) Tuinder, Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Ken (Carol) Trembley, Cottage Grove, Minnesota; 34 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jolle Davis, Homer, Alaska; brothers, LeRoy (Marie) Minnich, Carson City, Nevada, Max (Marlys) Minnich, Austin, Doug Minnich, Grand Meadow, Minnesota, and Harley (Helen), San Benito, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
