The LeRoy-Ostrander boys basketball team had its nine-game winning streak come to an end when it suffered its first conference loss of the season as it fell to Schaeffer Academy (8-4 overall, 5-1 SEC) by a score of 54-48 in Rochester Friday.
The Cardinals (9-2 overall, 4-1 SEC) had the ball down by four points when they committed a turnover with one minute left in the game.
“We just didn’t shoot well and we had way too many turnovers,” LO head coach Trevor Carrier said. “It was a great environment and a full house. It was one of the best environments we’ve been in all year and credit goes to Schaeffer.“
Trey Hungerholt had 23 points for LO.
