Alumni Update: Mullenbach debuts for UW-Stout gymnastics team

GYMNASTICS

Austin grad Maddie Mullenbach made her collegiate debut at UW-Stout in a 182.350-180.725 loss to Winona State in Winona Tuesday.

Mullenbach took sixth in the vault with a score of 9.075 and she was 10th in floor with an 8.825.

HOCKEY

Former Austin Bruin Christian Folin has played 27 games this season for the Los Angeles Kings (24-13-5 overall) and he has racked up two goals and three assists.

Blooming Prairie grad Elly Strunk has played in nine of 13 games at Gustavus (10-1-1 overall), but she is yet to register her first point. Strunk has five shots on goal.

BASKETBALL

Austin grads Zach Wessels and Tom Aase both chipped in for the University of Sioux Falls during a 72-70 loss to Winona State Jan. 6.

Wessels had seven points on three-of-four shooting with three rebounds and two assists for the Cougars and Aase had seven points on two-of-three shooting with with five rebounds and a blocked shot for the Cougars (10-5 overall).

Austin grad Bret Lukes had a strong performance for Hamline University as it beat Carleton College 51-47 Jan. 10.

Lukes scored 11 points on five-of-eight shooting and he grabbed two rebounds for the Pipers (7-7 overall).

Austin grad Gach Gach continued his strong play at West Texas A & M in a 93-59 win over Cameron recently.

Gach had 16 points, four rebounds and three assists on six-of-eight shooting in the win for the Buffs (14-1 overall).

Austin grad Oman Oman had 15 points and six rebounds for North Dakota State College of Science (13-4 overall) in an 89-70 win over United Tribes Tech. Jan. 8.

Southland grad Jana Schammel had two points and five rebounds for John Brown University (10-5 overall) in a 69-49 loss to Texas Wesleyan recently

Blooming Prairie grad Taylor Hagen had six points, seven rebounds and two steals in for the University of Northern Iowa (6-9 overall) in a 62-52 loss to Missouri State recently.

Blooming Prairie grad Madison Worke had six points on two-of-three shooting for Winona State University (13-1 overall) in a 61-46 win over Southwest Minnesota State recently.

Pacelli grad Sarah Holtz had four points for Luther College (10-7 overall) in an 85-65 loss to Wartburg recently.
