West Concord man gets 28 months in prison

Judge Jeffrey Kritzer sentenced Tyler Bill Stroud, 30, of West Concord to 28 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for felony terroristic threats — reckless disregard risk on Thursday in Mower County District Court.

Charges of felony first-degree aggravated robbery and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault were dismissed as part of a plea agreement on Dec. 11.

He got  credit for 78 days served.

Stroud was arrested on Oct. 9 after two Mower County deputies responded to a call of an assault and possible theft in Adams. As a passenger in a Dodge Durango, Stroud attempted to take the SUV by attacking the driver. A deputy arrested Stroud at the intersection of Fourth Street Southwest and Carr Street Southwest, where Stroud was locked outside the Durango and two people were inside. Stroud had the keys from the ignition.

Stroud’s criminal record shows prior convictions for felony drug charges as well as felony charges for receiving stolen property and domestic assault.
