The Hayfield girls basketball team hit 15 three-pointers as it beat Kenyon-Wanamingo (2-8 overall) by a score of 86-59 to open the Hayfield Tournament Wednesday.
Elecia Brown poured in a career-high 19 points as she hit three three-pointers for the Vikings (8-1 overall).
No. 5 ranked Hayfield will now host No. 1 ranked Lyle-Pacelli at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
“We’re going to try a lot of things and see what does and doesn’t have success,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said. “We’re going to try and learn for the future. We have three highly ranked teams in our section and getting that one seed would give the winner [of tomorrow’s game] a leg up in those standings.”
