Samuel Mejia Garcia (also known as Ashley Daniel Perez), 33, of Austin pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under 16-multiple acts on Friday in Mower County District Court as part of a plea agreement.

Three charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under 16-multiple acts will be dropped at the sentencing.

Garcia was arrested on June 19 after the alleged victim, now a teenager, disclosed the abuse to someone at a church event in Austin.

The victim was reportedly abused “at least once a week” going back to when she was 10 years-old.

The victim also said Garcia told her not to tell her mother because her mother would be “mad” at the victim.

Garcia will be sentenced on March 8.
