The Austin girls hockey team lost to Mankato West (8-6 overall, 5-6 Big Nine) 7-5 on the road Thursday.

The Scarlets led 7-3, but Kate Holtz and Myia Hoium scored late goals to pull Austin (4-6 overall, 3-5 Big Nine) within 7-5.

Jordyn McCormack had tied the game at 2-2 with a first period goal for Austin.
