John (Jack) Earl Sheedy, 77

John (Jack) Earl Sheedy, 77, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.

He was born Jan. 30, 1940, in Austin, to Harry and Eleanor (Earl) Sheedy. He attended both Austin and Blooming Prairie high schools, graduating with the class of 1958 from Blooming Prairie. Jack worked in construction for Ulland Brothers, Inc. for 23 years and was also a farmer all his life. On June 14, 1959, Jack married Eileen Dalager at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin, Minnesota. Together the couple raised two children. He was a longtime member of Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin. Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and snowmobiling. Jack will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Sheedy of Austin; his children, Lori (Greg) Stackhouse of Hayfield, Minnesota, and David (Connie) Sheedy of Little Elm, Texas; three grandchildren, Blaine (Katherine) Stackhouse of Hayfield, JB Stackhouse of Hayfield, and Cheyenne Redfearn of Lewisville, Texas; and sister, JoAnn (Richard) Tufte of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Eleanor Sheedy; and his brothers, Patrick Sheedy and Paul Sheedy.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin with Pastor Lindsay Stolen officiating. The Sheedy family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery, rural Austin.
