The Southland girls basketball team lost to Chatfield (1-0 overall, 1-0 Three Rivers) 51-42 on the road Tuesday.
The Rebels (0-1 overall, 0-1 Three Rivers) held a 21-10 lead late in the first half, but the Gophers scored a pair of hoops right before the half and they opened the second half on a run that saw them take the lead.
“They packed it in us and we didn’t adjust very well,” Southland head coach Dean Bendtsen said. “They’re an extremely physical team with a lot of height.”
