Spring Grove ends Grand Meadow’s season in the semifinals

The No. 4 seeded Grand Meadow football team officially had its run of playing in five straight state title games come to an end when they lost to No. 1 Spring Grove (10-0 overall) 40-17 in a Section 1 nine man semifinal game Saturday.

The Superlarks (7-3 overall), who had won the last four Class nine man state title games, pulled to within 22-17 when Zach Myhre made a 23 yard field goal with 3:49 left in the third quarter, but the Lions came up with TDs on their next three possessions to close the game out.

Myhre ran for 202 yards and Josh Graves had a 92-yard kickoff return for  TD in the loss.
