MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST FOR PICKETT PLACE

The Austin Housing and Redevelopment Authority is seeking a qualified person to perform apartment turnover and maintenance duties for Pickett Place a 100 unit apartment building.

Duties include: unit turnover (painting, cleaning, repairs and general maintenance), work order repairs, purchasing supplies, lawn mowing, snow removal, general cleaning and other duties as necessary.

Must serve in an “on call” capacity to respond to maintenance emergencies.

Must have ability to repair and/or diagnose problems with appliances, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling issues and carpentry.

Must be able to operate machinery such as power tools, lawn mowers, snow blowers, floor cleaners, etc.

A “Class Special” Boiler’s License is required or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.

Must also interact positively and communicate effectively with tenants.

Starting pay is $19.32 per hour plus benefits.
