Letter: Austin Area NBS Committee thanks Austin community

Thank you very much local residents from the Austin Area National Barrow Show Committee!
We’re extremely grateful for the support of this year’s NBS Community Windsor Pork Chop Dinner held Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Mower County Fairgrounds in Austin. This year’s event was the best attended since this fundraiser has been conducted.
Funds raised help defray expenses associated with hosting the National Barrow Show in Austin. Those who attended enjoyed a delicious thick cut Windsor pork chop, cole slaw, baked beans, dinner roll and a beverage.
We particularly want to recognize our sponsors. They were: Hy-Vee of Austin, National Pork Board/Pork Check-off, Minnesota Pork Board, Y-Waste Removal Inc., Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services, Riverland Community College-Ag and Food Sciences, Austin Holiday Inn and Conference Center, Days Inn, Mower County Fair Board, Austin Area Chamber of Commerce, and Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Our committee, comprised of volunteers from the community and several Austin organizations, would also like to thank everyone who participated in and exhibited at the 71st National Barrow Show. Our community had visitors from about 15 states travel to Austin for the show.
Please note that the 2018 NBS Community Windsor Pork Chop Dinner will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, in the Plager Building at the Mower County Fairgrounds during the 72nd National Barrow Show which will be Sept. 8-12.
