Jared Landherr is a senior football player for Southland.
Q: What sports do you compete in?
A: Football, basketball, and baseball.
Q: How did you originally get into football?
A: From my dad teaching me and from watching the varsity team play when I was really little because I looked up to those guys.
Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?
A: Homecoming game my freshman year. We shutout Chatfield, who won the Class AA state title the year before. It was so intense and such a fun game to be a part of. Also, getting to play every sport at the varsity level with my big brother.
Q: What have you learned from sports?
A: That nothing in sports comes easy and you have to work for what you earn, which translates directly into everyday life.
Q: What is the hardest part about football?
A: The physicality and mental toughness that you have to have every single day. Also not being able to move Saturday morning.
Q: Who is your biggest sports role model and why?
A: No question, LeBron James. He does everything in his power to help his team win no matter what. And he’s just a pretty cool dude. Oh, and he’s the GOAT.
Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?
A: “Breaking Bad” or “The Office” or “Friday Night Lights.” It’s a tough decision.
Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: Geography.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: Playing in the NBA alongside LeBron.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: All of them, except for the bad ones.
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: Hopefully play college basketball. Besides that, I’ve got some thinking to do.
Q: What’s a fun fact about you or hobby you enjoy most people don’t know about?
A: I played full seasons of football and basketball my sophomore year with a broken bone in my wrist.
Q: What are your top three pump songs before a big game?
A: “Medicated” by Wiz Khalifa, “Man of the Year” by Logic, and “No Church in the Wild” by Kanye West and Jay Z.
Q: What are your top three guilty pleasure songs?
A: “Relationship” by Young Thug and Future, “Do You Mind” by DJ Khaled, and “Springsteen” by Eric Church.
