The City Council expects to review a schematic design for the Community Recreation Center during its workshop session of Monday night.
The schematics are part of a lease agreement with the YMCA and are to define and ensure the square footages of the former Austin Utilities Power Plant, the site of the new recreational center, as required by the agreement.
McGough Construction and BWBR Architects were hired during the summer to design and construct the new recreation center in the building.
City Finance Director Tom Dankert will present a 2018-2022 capital improvement plan to the council during the work session.
The council will also consider citizen complaints about paying assessments for roadwork on First Street Southwest, which has been postponed until next year.
The City Council’s next regular meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, in the City Council chambers located in the basement of City Hall. The work session will take place in the conference room across the hall immediately following the regular meeting.
