Caravan du Nord to swing through Austin Saturday featuring Trampled by Turtles co-founder

On Saturday, don’t miss the opportunity for a full day of music when the Caravan du Nord makes it’s return to Austin.

Tickets are now on sale for the show itself which will start at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night at the Paramount Theatre featuring Dead Man Winter and accompanied by Lydia Lizia and Good Night Gold Dust.

Dead Man Winter features Trampled by Turtles Dave Simonett and features an Americana-infused indie rock sound. He recently released his album “Furnace” and he has received praise nationally as well as garnering a slot on TBS’s late night talk show “Conan,” hosted by Conan O’Brien.

Good Night Gold Dust was formed in 2014 and is based out of Mankato.The hand has a highly energetic stage show complete with ethereal vocals and a mixture of music styles.

Lydia Liza is a newer artist with several notable collaborations to her name including Toki Wright & Big Cats, Jeremy Messersmith and other artists in the Twin Cities and Midwest.

Tickets for the show are $10 per person. Doors open at 7 p.m.

But that’s only the icing on the cake. At 2:30 p.m. a seminar titled Funding for Artists will be held that will talk about grant opportunities, crowdsourcing campaigns and other revenue streams for musicians.

Then at 3:30 p.m. is Promoting Your Band, a roundtable of touring musicians that will discuss how to get the word out about shows. Both workshops will be held at the Paramount Annex (former Parks and Recreation building).

Then at 5:30 p.m. there is a social at Dusty’s Bar & Lounge.

Caravan du Nord is an annually touring music showcase sponsored by MPR’s The Current and made possible through a grant by the Minnesota State Arts Board.
