Purse, TV stolen in burglary, police report

Austin detectives are investigating a burglary that occurred sometime during the day on Monday.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, officers responded to a burglary call at 4:35 p.m.
on Monday in the 2000 block of Fifth Avenue Northeast.
A woman living at the residence said she left home at 6 a.m. and returned at 3 p.m. She noticed a leather tan West brand purse, containing identification, a passport and an undisclosed amount of cash, was missing from the bedroom.
A $400 50-inch Samsung TV and a $120 bottle of cologne, along with several pairs of men and women shoes, were also missing.
The rear door of the house looked as if it had been pushed or kicked in. There were no visible prints on the door.
A neighbor saw teenagers on bicycles early to mid-morning, but it is unclear if they were involved.
