It was August 2002 when area residents got a first look at the new 64-unit independent and assisted-living retirement community that was opening in a few weeks in southwest Austin. It was the eighth facility opened for South Dakota-based Primrose.

Austin’s Primrose Retirement Community on Thursday celebrated the 15 years that have passed since its opening.

Thursday’s festivities included a car show, grill out, tours, vendors, games, a bounce house and raffle giveaways.

With a balloon “15” behind them, visitors to the Primose Retirement Communities’ 15th Anniversary Celebration, enjoy some refreshments on a warm afternoon Thursday.
