Marjorie Siskow, 97

Marjorie Ann Roberts was born on Feb. 27, 1920, in Saskatchewan, Canada, to Alfred and Catherine (Harter) Roberts. At the age of three she moved to St Paul, Minnesota, with her parents. She was baptized and confirmed at the Como Park Lutheran Church in St. Paul. On Sept. 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Samuel Siskow in St Paul. In 1950 they moved to their farm near LeRoy, Minnesota. To this union four children were born, Linda, Wayne, Vernon and Diane.

Marjorie was a member of the LeRoy Evangelical Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years, served as Sunday School superintendent, was past president of the LeRoy Lutheran WELCA, active in the church circle, and Do Day Sewing. She also spent time as a Cub Scout Leader. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren teaching them how to sew, play games, read and cook, and helping them with numerous projects and book reports for school.

Marjorie is survived by two sons, Wayne (Gloria) Siskow and Vernon Siskow both of Ostrander, Minnesota; one daughter, Diane (Al) Machulda of Cooper City, Florida; and a son-in-law, Richard Nelson; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Ryan) Siskow, Samuel (Crystal) Siskow, Douglas Siskow, Timothy (Becky) Siskow, Kimberly (Mark) Rundle, Michelle Marine, Jim Nelson, Shaun Nelson and Michael Muchulda; 13 great-grandchildren,  Samantha, Allison, Seth, Brody, Conner, Jackson, Danielle, Charlotte, Kathryn, John, Adelyn, Jacob and Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel; a daughter, Linda; a grandson-in-law, Don Marine; and five siblings.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at LeRoy Lutheran Church with the Rev. Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Memorials are preferred to the LeRoy Ambulance Service or the LeRoy Fire Department.
